Supporting Each Other Through the Online Bookish Community

Small Bookish Businesses to Support

Good morning, bookworms! I know, I usually only post book reviews, but I wanted to do something a little different today. During these strange times, I’m really grateful to have the online bookish community. I think it’s wonderful how supportive we are of each other.

We know that small businesses are being largely affected by this COVID pandemic. So I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite small businesses to recommend. I’ve also provided links to their websites and listed any discount codes that I know of. For some of these companies, I am a rep on Bookstagram. For others, I’m not. I just love their products 🙂 I’ve added this information on a new page on my blog, but I’m also posting this info in a regular to post here so that more people can see it.

Discount rep code SPINES = 10% off a single box purchase or subscription plan at

OwlCrate is a super fun book subscription box specifically for YA fantasy. Each month, they curate a theme around a particular book and design an exclusive, signed edition of the book along with various bookish goodies (i.e. candle, pin banner, puzzle, booksleeve, art print, etc.). Each monthly box also contains a monthly enamel pin to collect.

Fairyloot is another book subscription box similar to OwlCrate. Fairyloot is based in the UK, but they ship their monthly boxes from both UK and US shipping facilities. They also design exclusive editions of a monthly YA fantasy book, plus various goodies.

  1. I absolutely adore bookish goodies and subscription boxes, so I’m definitely going to check out and support some of these businesses! Thanks for all of the recommendations! I agree that Owlcrate and Fairy Loot are both wonderful bookish boxes! I also recommend Unicorn Crate if you haven’t tried it, I’m no longer subscribed but I really loved it when I was! Great post, I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog! ❤
